This excursion offers some of the best-known natural phenomena of Iceland. First, we visit Nesjavellir, a high-temperature geothermal area situated in the picturesque landscape of Lake Ŝingvallavatn. This area supplies approximately 25% of the hot water needed to provide central heating to our capital.
A few kilometers north we will enter Ŝingvellir, a national park, then onto Alŝingi, our ancient parliament. We continue onto the impressive waterfall, Gullfoss, and the geothermal area, Geysir. We will next visit a beautiful church, Skálholt, the ancient seat of Icelandic Bishops, revealing a part of Iceland’s religious past.
