DIGITAL COPYWRITER - GREATER EDINBURGH AREA

Nordic Visitor is looking for a creative, enthusiastic and detail-oriented Digital Copywriter based in Central Scotland to join the Marketing department in Edinburgh. You will begin your role working remotely, before joining our Edinburgh office when conditions allow.
 
The ideal candidate is an energetic, driven and positive-minded individual with a high capacity for attention to detail who can work both independently and as an active member of the team.
 
You’ll be using your knowledge to deliver compelling and thought-provoking copy, using best practices for various channels including search, social media, and email.
 
Your day-to-day responsibilities will be researching and writing new content for the company website, emails and social media channels. You will also be asked to edit the work of other writers. Finally, you may be asked to optimise or update existing content.
 
Your role and responsibilities would include:
  • Write engaging and error-free text for a wide range of projects, including eCommerce copy, blog articles, social media posts, and newsletters.
  • Support the ongoing creation and optimisation of content by following defined strategies and working closely with key stakeholders.
  • Use analytics tools to understand what content is working and what is not - making changes accordingly.
Required skills and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, English Language, Journalism, Marketing or other suitable qualification.
  • Minimum 2 years of copywriting or content writing experience in agency or in-house digital marketing roles.
  • Passion and excitement about travel and writing.
  • Demonstrable talent for copywriting and copy-editing, with the ability to create content that informs and inspires readers.
  • Willingness to chase information, find accurate answers and hit deadlines.
  • The ability to provide and receive constructive criticism.
  • Proven knowledge of on-page SEO and/or social media optimisation.
  • Experience in updating and editing via a CMS.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Strong work ethic with a high degree of determination and drive.
  • Positive attitude and a team mentality
  • Good working knowledge of Project Management tools.
  • Be organised and methodical with the ability to multitask, stay organised and work with remote team members.
  • A blog or portfolio of ad copy, blog articles or landing pages examples.
Beneficial skills and experience:
  • Demonstrated experience in social media marketing.
  • Prior experience in PR, Outreach or both.
  • Working knowledge of CRO copywriting.
  • Understanding of UX.

Working at Nordic Visitor
Your typical work week will be 40 hours per week, 8 hours each day with lunch breaks included. You will report to the Director of Marketing in Edinburgh and work as part of a team based in Reykjavik & Edinburgh.
 
You will initially work remotely, then when conditions allow for return to the office, you will join a small but growing team at our Edinburgh office, conveniently located on George Street in the city centre. The office space is bright and airy and offers comfortable working conditions and a stimulating work environment.
 
Positioned close to various shops, restaurants and the beautiful Princes Street Gardens, the office has views of Edinburgh Castle and Firth of Forth. There’s a meeting room, breakout space and kitchen facilities.
