Travel Consultant – Edinburgh, Scotland

Are you an experienced travel professional looking for a new opportunity?
 
Nordic Visitor, a leading travel agency specialising in bespoke tours throughout Northern Europe, is looking to add a travel consultant, with knowledge of the Irish tourism industry, to their small and ambitious team at their Edinburgh office.
 
Role and responsibilities:
As a travel consultant at Nordic Visitor, you will be responsible for converting leads into sales of tailor-made tour packages in Ireland, Scotland and England. You will organise each itinerary with a personal touch, arranging everything from accommodations to activities to transportation according to clients’ needs and special interests. Catering to mid- and high-income clients from all over the world, you will be adept at providing first-class service and an unforgettable travel experience.
 
Using your expertise of Ireland, you will also take part in developing new products for our websites and selecting local service providers. This is a great opportunity to help grow the operations of an innovative travel company that has an excellent reputation for quality services for its clients and a superb working environment for its staff.
 
This position is based at our office in Edinburgh, in a historic building in the heart of the New Town.

Skills and experience
The ideal candidate is an energetic, service-oriented and positive-minded individual with proven experience in sales and the Irish travel industry. A travel consultant at Nordic Visitor must be able to work both independently and as an active team member. This position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as an insider’s knowledge of travel and tourism trends in Ireland.

Other Qualifications:
  • Excellent spoken and written English (other languages are a plus)
  • Education and/or experience relevant to the position
  • Experience with the Irish tourism industry
  • Knowledge of the tourism industries of Scotland and England is an advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Positive and service-oriented disposition
  • Must be able to work flexible hours if needed
  • Strong computer skills

Working at Nordic Visitor
