Ravenglass

Ravenglass is a small coastal village that has the distinction of being the only town on the coastline in the Lake District. Though few traces remain of its ancient history, this village developed as a Roman base in the 2nd century but has since became more popular for its scenic railway.

The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, one of England’s longest and oldest narrow gauge railways, offers a 40-minute journey with spectacular views of England’s highest mountains.
