Ægir Microbrewery sits in Flåm, nestled near the fjord and mountains, in a timber building inspired by Viking halls. Its ornate carvings and warm interior draw inspiration from Norse mythology.
Named after Ægir, the Norse god of the sea famed for hosting legendary parties in his underwater hall, the brewery celebrates “beer of the gods.” Each brew has its own mythological name, connecting visitors to ancient stories while enjoying modern craft beers.
You can tour the brewery, watch the brewing process, and taste a wide selection of ales and lagers in the tavern. They have a rotating food menu that is often paired with their signature beers, featuring local produce and Norwegian flavours.
The atmosphere, with wooden beams and Viking décor, make it feel like you’re sloshing tankards with Norse warriors. The unique circular bar area with complete with open fire makes it the perfect place to unwind after a day of adventuring!
