Vigelund Park in Oslo

Vigeland Sculpture Park

View Photos

Explore more than 200 of Gustav Vigeland’s sculptures in the heart of Oslo

Within Frogner Park, you’ll find one of Oslo’s most popular attractions, the Vigeland Sculpture Park. This 200-strong collection of Gustav Vigeland’s works features incredibly expressive, human sculptures forged in bronze, granite and iron. Among the most notable – or at least most photographed – pieces are The Monolith, The Wheel of Life and the amusingly named Man Attacked by Babies.

Completed in the 1940s, it’s the world’s largest park dedicated to sculptures by an individual artist. Vigeland also contributed to the design and distinctive layout of the park, featuring geometric walkways and tiered platforms connected by staircases. The park is open to visitors all year round, but in the summer, it’s especially popular amongst locals for sunbathing, sports and picnics.
