Stunning mountain pass with unexpected wonders
The Brenner Pass (“Passo del Brennero”) is a mountain road in the Eastern Alps that crosses the border between Austria and Italy. The smooth roads and many tempting stops make this route a driver’s dream – so why don’t you discover it for yourself?
It’s the perfect way to experience some quintessential Alpine scenery from behind the wheel. The pass is around 50 kilometres (31 miles) from beginning to end and has been a transport route since Roman times.
You’ll find the Brenner Pass running between Vipiteno (or “Sterzing”) in Northern Italy and Steinach am Brenner in Austria. The winding road passes over lush green valleys of crops and livestock and beneath towering mountain peaks.
