The Ice Cap of Greenland covers 1,710,000 sq. km, or just about 80% of the island’s landmass. At almost 2,400 km long from north to south, it is the second largest ice sheet in the world. This massive glacier changes constantly—each year the ice retreats several meters inland and it is therefore considered to be one of the most visible markers of global climate change. It really is an amazing experience to add to your bucket list.
