A quiet, authentic coastal town
This small town sits between Amalfi and Maiori on the coast, quieter than its famous neighbours and perfectly happy about it. Minori has a proper beach. Sandy, soft. And locals actually use it.
The town curves around a small bay where the Reghinna Minor stream meets the sea. Lemon groves climb the hillsides behind, filling the air with that sharp citrus scent that defines the Amalfi Coast. The lemons here are sfusato amalfitano, fat and fragrant, turned into limoncello in nearly every family kitchen.
Roman ruins sit in the town centre. The Villa Maritima Romana dates from the 1st century CE, a nobleman’s seaside retreat with mosaic floors and a small antiquarium displaying artefacts.
Sal De Riso, one of Italy’s most celebrated pastry chefs, runs the pastry shop near Minori’s main street. His delizia al limone, a sponge soaked in limoncello and filled with lemon cream, is worth the queue. The sfogliatella is exemplary. Everything in the window is a small masterpiece of sugar, butter, and local pride.
