Coastal hiking route with unparalleled views
The Path of the Gods trail cuts across the Amalfi Coast. It stretches between Bomerano and Nocelle, chiselled into cliffs 500 metres above the sea. The Greeks walked here first (or so legend claims), gods traversing between earth and sky.
The trail delivers on its promise. Views sweep across the coastline – Positano clings to the slopes below as Capri rises from the endless blue Mediterranean. Every turn reveals another perspective worth stopping for. And worth snapping a photo of.
Winding through terraced vineyards and ancient olive groves, wildflowers burst from rocky outcrops in spring. Stone walls built centuries ago still guide the way. The hike takes 3–4 hours. It’s moderately challenging with some steep sections and uneven footing in places. But the trail is well-marked and manageable for confident walkers.
Bring water – there’s little shade. And wear proper footwear. Trainers with a good grip at minimum, but hiking boots are even better.
