With over 300 castles and estates dotting the beautiful landscapes, Aberdeenshire is known colloquially as “Scotland’s Castle Country”. As if that weren't grand enough, the neighbouring Moray Speyside area is often called "Malt Whisky Country" as over half of Scotland's distilleries are clustered here.
