World-famous pub in the heart of Munich

Nowhere will you experience Bavaria’s lively and hospitable culture better than at the Hofbräuhaus. This historic beer house was built by Duke Maximillian I of 1589 and intended for aristocratic gatherings. Since 1828, Hofbräuhaus has been open to the public, and it’s been Munich’s most iconic eatery ever since.

If your group is less than 4, you won’t need to book. Simply turn up and settle into the “Schwemme”, the bustling main beer hall. The atmosphere is electric, with traditional music played by a German band dressed in traditional clothing. Order yourself a stein and soak up your surroundings.

Though the drinks here are world-class, Hofbräuhaus also serves mouth-watering local delicacies. This is the perfect place to try a soft pretzel, a decadent cheese dip, pork knuckle and of course some German sausages. Many famous patrons have enjoyed this venue too, including Mozart and President John F. Kennedy.
