Grímsey in North Iceland

Grímsey

Iceland's northernmost point

Grimsey is the northernmost inhabited part of Iceland, located forty kilometres north of the mainland. It is a beautiful, rocky island that really has to be seen to be believed. Crossed by the Arctic Circle, the sun doesn’t set here during summer solstice, which gives the island a unique and magical atmosphere.

The island is home to 100 people, numerous flowering plants and a diverse and colourful bird population.

If you would wish to visit Grimsey please contact your Nordic Visitor travel consultant.
