Denmark's colourful capital

Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is one of Scandinavia’s most beautiful cities. One might think it's a sort of Paris or Amsterdam of the North owing to its small cobbled streets and classical architecture in the historical quarters, the narrow canals lined with colourful old buildings and its abundance of cultural attractions, most of which are tightly clustered within the central area. 

From old-fashioned amusement park rides to canal boat tours, it’s safe to say that this city has something for everyone. Here you will find world-class art institutions along with a number of exceptional museums and grand palaces. For something less conventional, there's also the city's bohemian mini-state of Christiania, the trendy district of Vesterbro and a flourishing artisan scene around the formerly gritty street of Jægersborggade in the Nørrebro neighbourhood.

Known best for its avid biking culture, beer brewing heritage, ultra-modern designs and Hans Christian Andersen stories, Copenhagen has also become a major foodie hotspot in recent years with internationally acclaimed restaurants like NOMA and its New Nordic culinary culture. It's nice to know that after all the walking (or biking) you're bound to do in this city, you won't leave with an empty stomach.
