Charming village surrounded by mountains

The mountain village of Geilo is one of the largest and oldest ski resorts in Scandinavia. It’s a popular winter destination for alpine and cross-country skiing, as well as dog sledding and tobogganing. Geilo’s history is closely tied to tourism and the tradition of mountain cabins, reflecting Norway’s long love of “friluftsliv,” or open-air living.
