Geirangerfjord

One of Norway's most famous and breathtaking fjords

Geirangerfjord is one of Norway’s most iconic fjords, stretching 15 kilometres (9 miles) inland from the coastal village of Hellesylt to the small settlement of Geiranger. Sheer cliffs, tumbling waterfalls and emerald-green waters give it a picture-postcard quality.

The fjord is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its outstanding natural beauty and cultural history. Abandoned farmsteads still cling to impossible ledges above the water, standing as reminders of the generations who once lived off this dramatic land.

Boat trips reveal the thundering Seven Sisters and Suitor waterfalls, while winding mountain roads provide sweeping viewpoints such as Flydalsjuvet and Dalsnibba. Hiking trails lead to panoramic vantage points, where you can look down on the fjord from high above.
