A polar journey in the Arctic

Polaria is located just a 5-minute walk from the centre of Tromsø, housed in a uniquely formed building reminiscent of ice sheets floating in the rough Arctic seas.

This fascinating museum contains several exhibits about Arctic hunting and famous polar expeditions along with an Arctic aquarium and a panoramic cinema. Here you can take a virtual helicopter journey over the rugged west coast of Spitsbergen in Svalbard, experience of a snowstorm or polar bear encounter, and visit some friendly seals.
