Taking the train from Oslo to Bergen via Flåm

From Oslo, this Norway in a Nutshell starts by taking the train on the Bergensbanen (Bergen Line) to Myrdal to the Myrdal station, situated 866 metres above sea level. There you connect to the famous Flåm Railway (Flåmsbana) for a breathtaking 20-kilometre journey down the mountains to the idyllic village of Flåm nestled in the Aurlandsfjord.

Riding in the vintage rail cars on the train from Myrdal to Flåm, you’ll even get to enjoy a stop at the majestic Kjosfossen waterfall where you can disembark on the platform to take photos.
