Graceful park around Luxembourg Palace

Smack-dab in the heart of the Left Bank sits the Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris’s most beloved green space. Here’s the thing: Parisians treat it like their outdoor living room – and you should too.

These elegant 17th-century gardens wrap around the grand Luxembourg Palace (now home to the French Senate – très fancy). Think perfectly manicured lawns, tree-lined paths begging for a leisurely stroll, flowerbeds exploding with colour, and statues popping up like surprises around corners.

The real showstopper? That octagonal pond right in the centre. You’ll spot kids sailing adorable toy boats while grown-ups lounge in those famous green chairs dotted everywhere. Peak Parisian vibes.

The gardens are completely free and open from dawn to dusk (exact times shift with the seasons). Our advice is to grab a coffee from a nearby café, bring a book and snag one of those green chairs (also free – just drag it wherever you fancy). Then settle in for some world-class people-watching.
