Trossachs National Park

Visit the fourth largest park in all of the British Isles.

This is the first established national park in Scotland, offering a great variety of scenery, wildlife and recreational opportunities for visitors of all ages.

It covers an area of  720 square miles (1,865 km²), making it the fourth largest park in all of the British Isles. This vast park is split into four sections:

• “Highlands in miniature” including the hills, mountains and woods of The Trossachs
• “Land of the Giants” with its towering peaks and wild glens of Breadalbane
• Loch Lomond, the country’s largest freshwater lake
• Argyll Forest with its ancient trees.

Some of the chief attractions of this park include the West Highland Way walking trail, the mountain of Ben Lomond, Loch Lomond steamship cruises on the SS Sir Walter Scott and the scenic “Rob Roy Country” of The Trossachs — so named for a famous outlaw. Park information, including details about the Trossachs Trail, can be found at visitor centres located in Stirling, Luss and Callander, among other area towns.
