An unforgettable showcase of Norway’s breathtaking scenery

Loen, a small village tucked away in the inner part of the Nordfjord region, offers some of the most magnificent landscapes in Norway, with beautiful fjords, dazzling lakes, glittering glaciers and monumental mountains.

The village has long been a favourite stop for travellers. Early tourists came in the 19th century, drawn by majestic scenery. Today, Loen combines its traditional farming heritage with its position as a hub for adventure and sightseeing.

A highlight is the Loen Skylift, one of the world’s steepest cable cars. You’ll find yourself whisked to the top of Mount Hoven, 1,011 metres (3,317 feet) above sea level, in just 5 minutes. From here, walking trails lead to incredible viewpoints over the fjord, lakes and glaciers.

But it’s not just about the scenery. This area is also home to some of the oldest Viking Age farmsteads in the country. Other nearby points of interest include the Jostedalsbreen National Park, the Ramnefjellsfossen waterfall and the Tindefjellbreen and Briksdalen glaciers.
