Photo of the Month Contest

With stunning scenery around every bend, your camera will be put to good use on your Nordic Visitor adventure. And once your trip has ended, one of those snapshots can do more than adorn your Facebook wall or be filed away in an album.

By sharing one of your favourite shots with us, it just might be named our Photo of the Month!

Aside from being featured on Nordic Visitor’s Facebook page, the winning photographer will score a prize from 66° North, Iceland’s leading outdoor clothing brand.

Who can enter the Nordic Photo of the Month contest?

Anybody who travels on a Nordic Visitor travel package in any of our destinations can enter.

How can you enter?

On the social media platform of your choice! Post your photo(s) or video(s) on our Facebook wall or to Twitter or Instagram (using the #NordicVisitor tag so we can see your entry).

Pro tip: It helps your chances of winning if you include a good, descriptive caption with each photo and appropriate hashtags. It's also helpful to let your travel consultant know if you've tagged us in any posts in case you don't use your full (first and last) name on your Twitter or Instagram profile.

If you don't use social media, you can send photos as attachments to contest@nordicvisitor.com -- please make sure to include descriptions of each photo in the email.

What could you win?

Something to keep you warm, dry and looking good for future travel photos!

Each monthly winner will receive a travel-friendly Vatnajökull Primaloft Jacket (men's or women's, valued at ISK 32.000) from 66°North, a brand that has kept Iceland warm since 1926.

Originally founded for fishermen on Grímsey island, where Iceland meets the Arctic Circle, 66°North's clothing is crafted with the finest materials to withstand the test of time and stand up to the harshest of weather conditions. To stay comfortable—and look like a pro—while taking pictures, you might want to check out their range of practical, sturdy and stylish apparel before you travel.

What kind of photos can you enter? How many?

You can submit any photos taken during your Nordic Visitor tour, and there is no limit to how many you can enter.

Is there a deadline?

Not really, but please try to submit your photos within one month of your Nordic Visitor tour as this contest can end or change at any time.

How are winning photos selected?

A jury of Nordic Visitor staff chooses one winning photo for each month.

Our judges’ criteria are very open-ended, but creativity, well composed photos and descriptive captions always help. We also take special note of #NordicVisitor hashtagged photos that have a lot of likes and/or comments on social media.

How are the winning photos used?

Each winning photo will be featured on our Facebook page. That ensures that tens of thousands of our fans will get to admire your winning shot.

We may also use photo entries (winning or not) on our blog, other social media platforms or our website (with source credit, of course). See more details below.
