Nordic Photo of the Month Contest

With stunning scenery around every bend, your camera will be put to good use on your Nordic adventure. And once your trip has ended one of those snapshots can do more than adorn your Facebook wall or be filed away in an album.

Share one of your favourite shots with us and it just might be named our Nordic Photo of the Month!

Aside from heading up Nordic Visitor’s Facebook page and being featured on the Nordic Visitor blog, the winning photographer will score a prize from 66° North, Iceland’s leading outdoor clothing brand.

Who can enter the Nordic Photo of the Month contest?

Anybody who has travelled on a Nordic Visitor travel package in any of our destinations in 2015 or 2016 can enter.

How can you enter?

On the social media platform of your choice! Post your photo(s) and description(s) on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the #NordicVisitor tag so we can see your entry.

Not on social media? Send your entries and descriptions to contest (at) nordicvisitor.com

It helps if you include a few details about your photos, like where it was taken, which tour you travelled on and who is in the photo (if there are people featured).

What could you win?

Something to keep you warm, dry and looking good for future travel photos...

Each monthly winner will receive a travel-friendly Vatnajökull Primaloft Jacket (men's or women's) and Surtsey Hat (total value of roughly 60.000 ISK) from 66°North, a brand that has kept Iceland warm since 1926.

Originally founded for fishermen on Grímsey island, where Iceland meets the Arctic Circle, 66°North's clothing is crafted with the finest materials to withstand the test of time and stand up to the harshest of weather conditions. To stay comfortable—and look like a pro—while taking pictures, you might want to check out their range of practical, sturdy and stylish apparel before you travel.

What kind of photos can you enter? How many?

You can submit any photos taken during your Nordic Visitor tour, and there is no limit to how many you can enter.

Is there a deadline?

Not really, but please try to submit your photos within one month of your Nordic Visitor tour as this contest can end or change at any time.

How are winning photos selected?

A small jury of Nordic Visitor staff chooses one winning photo for each month.

Our judges’ criteria are very open-ended, but creativity, well composed photos with descriptive captions are appreciated. We also take special note of photos that have a lot of likes and/or comments on social media. #NordicVisitor

How are the winning photos used?

Each winning photo is used as the cover image on our Facebook page for a month, until the next winner is selected. That ensures that thousands of our followers will get to see your winning shot.

We might also use photo entries, winning or not, in our blog or other social media (with source credit). See more details below.
